SAEDNEWS: A group of foreign journalists visited Iran’s national broadcast headquarters in Tehran on Sunday, more than a month after the facility was bombed in an Israeli airstrike.

Foreign Journalists Visit Iran's Broadcaster Building Bombed By Israel

The journalists, in Iran for firsthand coverage of the aftermath of the Israeli assault, toured the ruins of the iconic “glass building” of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) during the fourth day of their visit.

The IRIB news department building was targeted on June 16 in violation of international humanitarian law, which prohibits attacks on journalists during armed conflict.

At the time of the strike, anchor Sahar Emami was delivering a live broadcast covering Israel’s military aggression against Iran. Despite the tremors from the first blast, she continued the broadcast uninterrupted.

The attack came on the third day of Israel’s unprovoked war against Iran, which began with a surprise overnight attack that assassinated dozens of senior military commanders and nuclear scientists.

The initial strike was followed by 12 days of aerial bombardment targeting both military and civilian sites.

In retaliation, Iran’s Armed Forces launched Operation True Promise III, targeting Israeli military, intelligence, energy, and research infrastructure across the occupied territories with volleys of ballistic missiles.

The United States formally entered the war on June 22 by bombing three Iranian nuclear facilities before announcing a unilateral ceasefire on behalf of Israel two days later.
