Iranian President Shares Emotional War-Era Story as He Urges Unity and Justice for All

According to Saed News, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian recounted a deeply personal wartime memory during a meeting with officials from the Martyrs and Veterans Affairs Foundation on Saturday. Speaking candidly, he described how his daughter had refused to leave his side during dangerous periods of conflict, despite his insistence and the grave security risks involved. “She would give her life for me,” Pezeshkian said. “And yet, in peacetime, she argues fiercely, holds firm to her opinions, and never yields.”

He used the anecdote to underscore a broader point: dissent should not be mistaken for disloyalty. “We must accept that opposing views are not acts of enmity,” he said. “Often, those who disagree are more sincere than the flatterers.”

In the wider context of his remarks, Pezeshkian praised Iranians for resisting calls to unrest following recent Israeli attacks, saying the people “poured cold water on the enemy’s plans” by standing firm behind their country. He outlined urgent plans for reconstruction in war-hit urban areas, delegating responsibility for damaged housing in Tehran to the municipality, with full state support.

Turning to the issue of Afghan migrants, Pezeshkian defended government efforts to manage their presence respectfully and securely. He denounced international critics who, in his words, ignore atrocities elsewhere while invoking human rights in Iran’s domestic affairs.

He called on all government agencies to cooperate fully, focus on fairness and justice regardless of ethnicity or background, and ensure that assistance reaches those most affected by war. “We must serve sincerely, without arrogance or favour,” he said, “because the enemy’s true goal is to divide us—and our answer must be unshakeable solidarity.”
