The word flyboard (Flyboard) is made up of “fly” and “board.” A flyboard is a recreational and sports device that is connected to a jet ski via a hose. It is effectively a pair of special boots that channels high-pressure water downward; that thrust can lift a person up to 12 metres above the sea and allows for manoeuvres, showy stunts and diving. With this thrilling new activity you can test your balance and enjoy hovering in the air and flying above the water.
To participate in this water activity, visit the island’s marine clubs or locations that offer cable-skiing. You can enjoy this exciting activity at Simorgh Beach clubs, Kish’s recreational pier, or Damoun Beach.
Simorgh Beach: southeast side of the island, Marjan Boulevard (Marjan 11).
Kish Recreational Pier: Senai Street, Darya Boulevard.
Damoun Beach: Didaniha Town, Damoun Pier.
Flyboarding was first introduced about eleven years ago by a French jet-ski champion named Frank Zapata, and in 2011 it appeared as a sport in international jet-ski competitions in China. After that, public interest grew and, following various trials, since 2012 the activity has been recognised around the world as a recreational sport and made available to the public.
Flyboarding first entered Iran in 1391 (2012/2013 in the Gregorian calendar) and today is one of Kish Island’s popular water activities.
This thrilling sport arrived in spring 1391 in Iran and from about 1392 it became widely known and very popular. Now flyboarding is one of Kish’s best-selling water activities. In addition to Kish Island, the sport has also spread to northern Iran and Tehran.
