Saed News:The Director General of Iranian Affairs Abroad at Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the recent U.S. government action banning entry of Iranian citizens and several other predominantly Muslim countries into the United States.
According to Saed News, Alireza Hashemi Raja, Director General of Iranian Affairs Abroad at Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, strongly condemned the recent U.S. government action banning entry to the United States for Iranian citizens and citizens of several other predominantly Muslim countries.
Hashemi Raja described this action as a clear sign of the dominance of a self-superior and racist mindset among American policymakers. He emphasized that the U.S. government’s decision to prohibit entry of Iranian nationals—solely based on their religion and nationality—not only reflects the deep hostility of American decision-makers toward the people of Iran and Muslims but also violates fundamental principles of international law, including the principle of non-discrimination and basic human rights.
The Director General added that depriving hundreds of millions of people of their right to travel to another country—simply based on their nationality or religion—is an example of racial discrimination and systemic racism within the U.S. ruling establishment. It contravenes international human rights norms and will entail international responsibility for the U.S. government.
Hashemi Raja called for the United Nations and human rights organizations to openly oppose the unilateral and rights-violating approaches taken by the U.S. He stressed that the Islamic Republic of Iran will take all necessary measures to protect the rights of Iranian nationals against the consequences of the discriminatory decision by the U.S. government.
