SAEDNEWS: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev stressed the need for expanding the Tehran-Baku bilateral relations and cooperation in various fields.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, who traveled to Baku for consultations with senior Azerbaijani officials, met with Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev on Monday morning.

The two sides discussed a broad spectrum of bilateral issues, including political engagement, regional matters, and mechanisms for managing their shared relations.

During the meeting, Araghchi conveyed the warm greetings of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to President Aliyev and highlighted the deep historical and cultural bonds connecting the two nations. He reiterated Iran’s commitment to strengthening and expanding cooperation with Azerbaijan across all mutually beneficial areas.

Emphasizing the importance of long-term vision in neighboring-country relations, Araghchi stressed the role of continuous diplomatic dialogue in addressing misunderstandings and managing ongoing issues. He also shared Iran’s perspectives on key regional developments.

President Aliyev, in turn, extended his greetings to President Pezeshkian, calling the Iranian leader’s recent visit to Baku a “historic” milestone that advanced mutual understanding and enhanced bilateral relations. Aliyev expressed satisfaction with the positive trajectory of Iran-Azerbaijan ties and affirmed Azerbaijan’s readiness to leverage all available capacities to deepen cooperation.
