SAEDNEWS: Senior security and military officials from Iran and Pakistan pledged to deepen cooperation between the two neighbors and coordinate more closely on regional security challenges.
In a meeting held in Rawalpindi on November 26, Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Secretary Ali Larijani and Pakistan’s Army Chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir, discussed plans to strengthen defense and security cooperation between the two neighbors.
The talks also addressed shifting regional dynamics and explored ways to reinforce the strategic partnership between Iran and Pakistan.
Field Marshal Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace and stability, emphasizing that closer cooperation with Iran is vital to combating terrorism and effectively responding to emerging geopolitical challenges. He also highlighted the growing need for sustained, institutionalized security coordination between Islamabad and Tehran.
Larijani, meanwhile, praised Pakistan’s key role in promoting regional stability and expressed Tehran’s readiness to expand strategic ties. He underscored the importance of continuous dialogue and joint initiatives to address shared challenges, noting that strengthened Iran-Pakistan cooperation is essential for lasting regional stability.
