SAEDNEWS: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi attended the 7th Group of Friends in Defense of the Charter of the UN on Friday.
Iran’s Foreign Minister delivered a speech at the 7th Ministerial Meeting of the Group of Friends in Defense of the United Nations Charter, reaffirming the country’s commitment to diplomacy and collective cooperation.
This international grouping, originally initiated by Venezuela, was established with a clear mission: to defend the principles of the UN Charter, the founding treaty of the United Nations. Its central aim is to promote multilateralism, peaceful dialogue, and diplomacy over the use of force in addressing disputes or perceived violations among UN Member States.
By taking part in this ministerial meeting, Iran underscored the importance of strengthening global partnerships and supporting a rules-based international order rooted in justice, sovereignty, and cooperation.
For observers and analysts, the event reflects not only Iran’s foreign policy direction but also a broader international effort to protect the legacy and relevance of the United Nations as a platform for peace and collaboration.
