SAEDNEWS: Iran’s Ambassador to Russia, Kazem Jalali, accused the West of complicity in Israel’s crimes in Gaza, warning that a planned Israeli takeover of the enclave would be a “serious crime” with major regional repercussions, while also confirming progress in Iran-Russia gas and financial cooperation.

According to Saed News, Kazem Jalali, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Russia, in remarks criticizing the West’s passivity toward the ongoing crimes of the Zionist regime in Gaza, said that Western countries, which constantly speak about human rights, have not condemned Israel for the “crimes against humanity” that this regime is committing in the Gaza Strip.

According to ISNA, Jalali noted: “We know that Israel cannot continue this war alone. Other powers are helping it. This is a proxy war, and Israel is fighting on behalf of the West in the region. That is why they ignore and do not condemn its crimes against humanity.”

Speaking to TASS news agency, he added: “Westerners always talk about human rights, but there is no clearer example of its violation than what is happening now in Gaza.”

According to the Iranian Ambassador, the Zionist regime has launched a war in Gaza against “defenseless and innocent” people.

Jalali further stressed regarding Israel’s intention to occupy Gaza that the planned Israeli operation to seize Gaza City would be a major crime with significant consequences for West Asia.

The diplomat stated: “This is a very serious crime. It has major consequences for the region itself. Besieging the people of Gaza, tormenting them with hunger, and killing and wounding so many of them, while declaring an intention to seize the entire region, is nothing but a crime against humanity.”

According to him, the decision to carry out this operation shows that the Israeli side disregards all humanitarian laws.

Jalali added: “I am not even speaking about international law, because all international laws and regulations have already been destroyed. But at least for all of us, there are humanitarian laws, and those too are being completely ignored.”

He continued: “These are only assumptions based on media reports. The Israeli regime is the one seeking war. Throughout its existence, it has created wars everywhere. We do not welcome war; it is not in the interest of any country, nor of the region. But we are a people who, if attacked, respond seriously. The same happened during the 12-day war: if there had been no serious damage in Israel, they would not have proposed a ceasefire.”

He added: “Iran is not Gaza. In Gaza, they are fighting against defenseless and innocent people. They kill children, women, and the elderly.”

On the midnight of June 13, the Zionist regime launched its aggressive attacks against Iran, but less than 24 hours later, Iran carried out a retaliatory operation. Nine days later, on the morning of June 22, American jets attacked Iran’s nuclear facilities in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan, engaging directly in the conflict. The next evening, Tehran launched a missile strike on Al-Udeid, the largest U.S. air base in the region, located in Qatar. Finally, on June 24, both sides announced that they had agreed to a full ceasefire.

In response to a question on “when Russian gas deliveries to Iran through Azerbaijan could begin, and whether this could happen before the end of 2025,” Tehran’s envoy in Moscow explained: “We hope this will happen in the near future. We are currently negotiating with Gazprom, and almost all issues have been resolved. But we must reach a common ground on pricing. If that is resolved, everything will be launched.”

In the final part of this interview, regarding the use of the “Mir” payment card in Iran and whether payments are currently possible only in the capital or across the country, Jalali said: “We now intend to make payments possible throughout the country. We have already passed three stages, one more remains, and we will complete this by the end of 2025.”
