SAEDNEWS: Iran has established a specialized Defense Council, chaired by the president and including top officials and military leaders, to enhance national defense and prepare for potential threats.

According to Saed News citing ISNA, In a television interview on the program “Jaryan,” Iran’s Foreign Minister explained the formation of the Defense Council in response to a question about its purpose: “According to the constitution, the Supreme National Security Council can have subordinate councils. Previously, the National Security Council ‘SHAC’ was established, and now, following recent developments and the outbreak of war, it was decided to create a Defense Council. This decision was approved by the Supreme National Security Council. The council focuses on defense issues, is chaired by the president, and includes the heads of the three branches of government. The presence of the armed forces and military officials is significant, and some ministries, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, are also represented.”

He added: “This council specializes in defense matters, enhancing the country’s military capabilities, and countering potential aggressions.”
