According to Saed News citing ISNA, the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs previously announced that representatives from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will travel to Iran within the next two weeks. During this visit, Iranian officials are expected to discuss the frameworks for the next phases of cooperation with the agency.

The source added: “The deputy director general’s trip to Tehran is a planned visit, and so far, more than ten similar meetings have taken place either in Tehran or Vienna. According to the itinerary, negotiations will be conducted at expert and technical levels, covering several issues, but this trip does not entail any specific decisions.”

Earlier, Rafael Grossi, the IAEA Director General, stated that Tehran had informed the agency’s leadership of its readiness to resume technical consultations. He also emphasized that the IAEA insists on the return of its inspectors to Iran to swiftly resume activities at the country’s nuclear facilities.

Last month, Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian issued a decree enforcing a law that halts cooperation with the IAEA. Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, has also said that despite Tehran’s decision to suspend cooperation, the channels for collaboration remain open.

According to Iranian officials, the condition for resuming cooperation is the guarantee of security for Iran’s nuclear facilities and scientists. This suspension of cooperation came after Tehran’s criticism of the agency and its director general for remaining silent in the face of attacks by the United States and the Israeli regime on the Fordow, Isfahan, and Natanz nuclear sites.
