Pakistan PM Condemns Desecration of Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israeli Minister, Settlers

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has censured Israeli ministers and settlers for desecration of Al-Aqsa Mosque, emphasizing that the shameless and deliberate actions of the Israeli regime escalate tensions in the occupied territories and beyond.

The prime minister made the reaction in a message on Monday, a day after Israeli settlers led by “Minister of National Security” Itamar Ben-Gvir stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied East Al-Quds.

Sharif said that the latest desecration of one of the holiest Islamic sites is not only an insult to the faith of over a billion Muslims but also a direct attack on international law and the collective conscience of humanity.

He also emphasized that such a brutal and systematic behavior by an occupying regime, coupled with reckless malice for further annexation of the occupied territories, jeopardizes the prospect of peace.

The Pakistani prime minister stated that the shameless actions of the Israeli regime are a deliberate attempt to escalate tensions in the occupied territories and beyond, bringing the West Asia region closer to instability and further conflict.

Sharif reiterated Pakistan's serious demand for an immediate ceasefire, the cessation of all aggressive actions, and the revival of a credible peace process that leads to the establishment of an independent and sustainable Palestinian state with al-Quds as its capital.
