Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Seyyed Abbas Salehi says the Islamic Republic, with its determination and alertness, has consistently foiled the plots of adversaries throughout its history.
Salehi made the remarks, while addressing an event in Tehran on Tuesday dubbed “Forever Iran” to honor the Iranian martyrs from the realms of culture, art, and media who lost their lives during the 12-day Israeli-imposed war.
The enemies did not have a correct understanding of Iran as their calculations regarding various areas of the country turned out to be wrong, he said, in reference to the Israeli and U.S. plots to create internal chaos with their attacks on Iran.
“They [the U.S. and Israeli regimes] made the same mistake that Saddam made during the 1980s,” he pointed out.
The minister emphasized that the Islamic Republic has consistently anticipated and countered the strategies of its adversaries throughout its history.
Commending the solidarity shown by the people during the recent foreign aggression, he said that Iranians with different tastes, religions, and ethnicities became one in the face of aggressors.
“Our history is a combination of heroic and mystical epics, which gives an extraordinary power to this nation,” he said.
Salehi concluded by saying that the 12-day war was an opportunity for Iranians to once again show the world the meaning of togetherness, which must be appreciated.
