Aghamiri: Hundreds of Scientists Have Filled the Place of The Martyred Nuclear Scientists

According to Saed News Agency's university correspondent, Mahmoud Reza Aghamiri, president of Shahid Beheshti University, spoke at a ceremony honoring five of the university’s nuclear scientists who were martyred by the Zionist regime. He stated: “I thank everyone for their condolences to Shahid Beheshti University. Today, our university mourns the loss of five of its nuclear scientists—each a figure of great influence and expertise in their respective fields.”

Referring to the consequences of this loss, he said: “We have lost valuable scientists at Shahid Beheshti University, and this has inevitably created a gap that will take time to fill. Our martyred nuclear scientists played a vital and deterrent role in strengthening the country’s power and defending it from enemies. They were key figures, but this doesn’t mean we cannot replace them. As Martyr Abbasi himself once said, we have trained people and are now seeking martyrdom.”

Emphasizing his 40-year connection with nuclear scientists, Aghamiri continued: “I testify that these individuals were great and determined people, exceptional in their fields. For example, Martyr Minoocher was not only an expert in mathematics and computer science but also a prominent nuclear scientist. We had high hopes for Martyr Zolfaghari and his contributions to the nuclear field. The others were equally remarkable—Martyr Faghihi was the legacy of Martyr Shahriari and carried on his path with equal strength and innovation. Martyr Tehranchi stood out not only in the nuclear field but also in management.”

The university president then expressed hope: “I bring good news to the academic community—hundreds of individuals have been trained to take the place of each of these scientists and are currently active in the country’s nuclear industry. When we decided to establish the Faculty of Nuclear Science 22 years ago, we didn’t know what a major step we were taking. So even though a gap has been created, opportunities have also emerged—ones the enemy can never take from us.”

Criticizing the silence of international bodies, he stated: “The criminal world has remained silent in the face of a criminal regime and must be held accountable. We are confident that victory is ours. Despite the difficult and sorrowful circumstances, the enemy will never achieve its goal. Soon, we will witness the collapse of this child-killing, criminal regime. It doesn’t only murder children in Gaza; it commits the same atrocities in Tehran. Like Yazid, this regime will end up in the trash heap of history.”

In conclusion, Aghamiri emphasized: “We, the academic community of Shahid Beheshti University, will fill the void left by these dear ones—just as we once thought replacing Professor Shahriari was impossible, yet we carried on his path. The university will soon overcome this great loss.”
