Iranians Lay To Rest I.R.G.C. Commanders Assassinated by Israel

Ceremonies were held on Sunday to lay to rest the commanders who were assassinated in targeted Israeli strikes launched as part of the regime’s war of aggression that began on June 13.

Lieutenant General Hossein Salami, who was the I.R.G.C. chief commander, was laid to rest at Shah Abdol-Azim shrine located in the city of Rey, Tehran Province. Masoud Shanei was also buried in the same place.

Ali Larijani and Mohammad Mokhber, both advisors to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, attended the burial ceremony in Rey.

Major General Amir Ali Hajizadeh, commander of the I.R.G.C. Aerospace Force, and Major General Mahmoud Bagheri, commander of the Aerospace Missile Force, were buried in Behesht-e Zahra, the cemetery of the capital, Tehran.

The burial ceremony for Lieutenant General Ali Shadmani, who served as commander of the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, was held in his hometown, Hamedan.

The burial ceremony for his predecessor Lieutenant General Gholamali Rashid will be held in his hometown Dezful on Monday. Shadmani was appointed by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei as commander of the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters after Rashid was assassinated by Israel on June 13.

Lieutenant General Mohammad Baqeri, who was the chairman of the chiefs of staff of Iran’s Armed Forces, was laid to rest on Saturday following a funeral procession for 60 people killed in the Israeli aggression.

All those were among more than 600 people who were killed during the 12-day war of aggression.

Israel launched the aggression three days ahead of planned talks between Iran and the United States on the Iranian peaceful nuclear program.

Washington joined the aggression on June 22 when it bombed three nuclear sites of Iran, namely Fordow, Isfahan, and Natanz.

The Iranian Armed Forces responded to the U.S.-Israeli aggression powerfully, striking key areas across the Israeli occupied territories and inflicting heavy damage there. The aggression came to an end following a ceasefire announced on June 24.
