SAEDNEWS: OpenAI Unveils GPT-5.2: A Next-Gen ChatGPT Focused on Professional Work, Science, and Math
According to the Science and Technology Service of Saed News, citing ISNA, ChatGPT has recently received an upgrade. OpenAI announced on Thursday that GPT-5.2 delivers improved performance across all areas, making it the company’s most powerful model to date for science and mathematics.
CNET reports that OpenAI’s statement praised the new model not so much for everyday personal tasks, but for work-related activities.
“We designed GPT‑5.2 to bring greater economic value to people,” the statement reads. “This system performs better at creating spreadsheets, building presentations, writing code, understanding images, interpreting long texts, using tools, and managing complex, multi-step projects.”
Last week, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman sent an internal memo titled “Red Status” to warn employees about the growing threat from competitors—especially Google and its advanced chatbot Gemini 3, released in November. The move echoes Google’s own “Red Status” memo from a few years ago, sent around the launch of ChatGPT and its global attention. In just a few years, roles have reversed: every company now sees the other as a primary rival in the AI race.
There are three versions of GPT-5.2:
GPT‑5.2 Instant: Designed to be fast and useful for everyday activities.
GPT‑5.2 Thinking: The most advanced GPT‑5.2 model for professional and real-world tasks.
GPT‑5.2 Pro: OpenAI’s smartest and most reliable model yet, designed for difficult questions that demand higher-quality answers.
OpenAI says the entire GPT-5.2 family offers a meaningful upgrade over previous versions for work and learning.
For developers, GPT-5.2 is designed as a robust model for building agents, thanks to improvements in general AI, long-text comprehension, tool invocation, and agent-based reasoning.
The new ChatGPT model launched on Thursday with paid plans and is now available to all developers.
