SAEDNEWS: Iran’s permanent mission to the United Nations in New York has called for a return to diplomacy following the failure of the United States and Israel to dismantle Iran’s nuclear program through military aggression.

Iran’s U.N. Mission: The logic of War Has Failed; Return to Diplomacy

“The logic of threats, intimidation, and the use of military force to compel Iran to abandon its peaceful nuclear program has become even more futile in light of the recent defeat suffered by the warmongers. The logic of war has failed—return to the logic of diplomacy,” the mission said on X on Wednesday.

The statement came a day after a ceasefire came into effect, ending 12 days of Israeli-U.S. aggression against Iran, which included attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities in Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan.

The United States came to Israel’s aid with attacks on the three nuclear sites on June 22, becoming a direct party to the war.

Israel assassinated several top Iranian military officials and nuclear scientists in targeted strikes on June 13, the first day of its attacks. Over 600 people were subsequently killed and thousands injured in Israeli strikes across Iran, according to official figures.

In response, the Iranian Armed Forces launched powerful punitive strikes on key Israeli positions deep inside the occupied territories, using drones and ballistic missiles.

Additionally, Iran carried out a missile attack on a key U.S. airbase in Qatar on June 23 in response to Washington’s aggression.
