From 2-0 Down To 4-4: Juve’s Stoppage-Time Comeback Will Give Dortmund Nightmares!

Juventus substitute Dusan Vlahović, 25, who had been the subject of summer transfer talk, single-handedly revived the Serie A side with two goals and a second-half assist to English defender Lloyd Kelly. Coming off the bench, he secured a scandalous stoppage-time draw against Dortmund, turning what looked like a defeat into a 4–4 finish after Dortmund led by two goals as late as the 94th minute.

The wild open took a fresh turn in the 52nd minute when Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi struck with a left-footed shot from the edge of the box, his first clear shooting chance. Kenan Yildiz — the team’s tireless engine — then levelled for Dortmund with a top-corner strike from the right.

But the celebrations in the Juventus stadium proved brief. Less than a minute later Adeyemi reappeared as the provider, setting up Felix Nmecha for another long-range goal, Dortmund’s third of the night.

The contest swung back and forth until, in the 67th minute, Yildiz fed Vlahović, who finished with his right foot to pull Juventus back into the game.

Yan Couto restored Dortmund’s lead in the 74th minute, and Bensebaini converted a penalty in the 86th after Lloyd Kelly handled the ball to make it 3–2 in Dortmund’s favour.

Then came the late drama. In the 93rd minute — with just three minutes remaining — Borussia Dortmund looked to have the result wrapped up, until Vlahović struck a thunderous finish from Pierre Kalulu’s cross in the 94th minute to level. Two minutes later, Kelly nodded in from a right-footed cross to complete the turnaround and secure the 4–4 draw.

This 4–4 stalemate between Juventus and Dortmund marks the seventh occasion in Champions League history that both teams have scored at least four goals in a single match.

In the competition’s new season-phase format, the top eight teams will progress directly to the round of 16; the next 16 enter a two-leg playoff, from which eight will advance.
