SAEDNEWS: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has traveled to Qatar to attend a ministerial meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) about the Zionist regime’s recent military aggression against the Persian Gulf state.
Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi arrived in Doha on Sunday morning to participate in an emergency OIC meeting, convened at Qatar’s request to address the recent Israeli military strike on its territory.
The high-level meeting of foreign ministers is expected to set the stage for the Islamic-Arab summit scheduled for Monday, where Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian will represent Tehran.
The strike, carried out by Israel on September 9, targeted Hamas leadership in Qatar’s capital, resulting in the deaths of five Hamas members, including the son of senior leader Khalil al-Hayya, and a member of Qatar’s security forces. The attack has drawn widespread international condemnation, raising tensions across the region.
The OIC meeting aims to coordinate responses to the strike, reinforce regional security, and discuss steps to prevent further escalations, underscoring the growing diplomatic and strategic efforts by Muslim-majority countries in the face of Israeli aggression.
