According to SaedNews, Cadrez — the former Denver Broncos linebacker — was leaving his son’s youth football game when he witnessed a violent head-on collision and rushed to help. “By the time I turned around, the car was engulfed in flames,” Cadrez recalled. “Biggest reddest flames, dark black smoke.” He pulled a 25-year-old man from one of the vehicles, an act local media described as heroic.

The following day Cadrez was told four people had died in the crash: a 23-year-old woman and three younger victims — a boy and a girl aged 14 and 15 — along with another occupant in the other vehicle, according to the California Highway Patrol. Cadrez said the news hit him hard. “I thought there were no casualties… I have two kids, so it really kinda hit home,” he said, adding that his actions were “common decency.”

Authorities continue investigating the collision’s cause and circumstances; first responders and CHP units handled fire suppression and traffic management at the scene. Community members and teammates praised Cadrez for his quick thinking, even as families and officials mourned the tragic loss of life.
