SAEDNEWS: A reconnaissance drone belonging to the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah has infiltrated the northern part of the occupied territories, filming the private villa of the Israeli regime's prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu.
According to SAEDNEWS, On Sunday, the Israel Hayom daily newspaper reported that the Israeli regime’s defense systems issued a warning regarding a drone spotted near Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s private residence in Caesarea, located 37 km south of Haifa along the Mediterranean coast. The report speculated that the drone may have been launched from Lebanon, successfully capturing footage of Netanyahu's home.
In response to the incident, Israeli fighter jets were dispatched to the vicinity; however, they were unable to pinpoint the suspected drone's exact location, according to the newspaper's findings.
The Israeli military later suggested that the alarm might have been a false call, noting that radar and defense systems occasionally generate such notifications due to technical errors. Nonetheless, they did not entirely dismiss the possibility of a small drone being launched by Hezbollah.
The drone incident follows a nearly 10-minute video gathered from surveillance aircraft that documented key locations in the northern city of Haifa. Back in June, Hezbollah released a 9-minute-31-second video that showcased images of residential and military sites in and around Haifa, including the strategic sea and airport facilities, which was directed toward Israeli audiences. This footage highlighted the escalating challenges the Israeli military faces in countering the drone capabilities exhibited by Hezbollah.
This incident occurs against a backdrop of heightened apprehension about a potential war between Israel and Hezbollah, particularly following the assassination of Hezbollah commander Fuad Shukr in Beirut on July 30. In retaliation, Hezbollah launched 60 Katyusha rockets at Israel's Meron Air Base, damaging surveillance equipment and igniting a fire within the facility.
The situation has intensified fears among Israelis, especially after Iran vowed to retaliate against Israel following the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran. Haniyeh was in the Iranian capital for the swearing-in ceremony of Iran’s newly-elected President Masoud Pezeshkian when he and his bodyguard were killed in an attack on July 31. Following Haniyeh’s assassination, Ayatollah Khamenei warned Israel of a “harsh response,” emphasizing that avenging the Palestinian resistance leader's death is a duty for the Islamic Republic.
