Saed News: This year, “the art of clothing” is presented not merely as fashion, but as a museum-worthy artwork.
According to SAEDNEWS, the 2026 edition of the event, titled “Costume Art,” places fashion on equal footing with the fine arts. From May 10, 2026 to January 10, 2027, the newly expanded nearly 1,200-square-meter galleries of the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute will host hundreds of artworks centered on the “dressed body,” alongside fashion pieces aligned with the exhibition’s themes.
In line with this concept, the evening’s dress code—titled “Fashion is Art”—encourages attendees to see themselves as a “blank canvas.”
Karen, who attended the Met Gala wearing a dress inspired by the works of Raja Ravi Varma and designed by Manish Malhotra, shared her look on Instagram and wrote:
“From childhood dreams filled with love for cinema and costume design, to standing on the steps of the Met Gala, it feels like my life has reached completion and my circle of dreams has closed.”
