SAEDNEWS: The presence of a humanoid robot dressed in traditional Emirati clothing among Eid al-Adha worshippers at one of Dubai’s mosques has attracted widespread attention from social media users. The video, which has been circulated by media outlets, portrays a symbolic blend of technology and tradition.
According to a report by SaedNews University Service, and based on a video published by the “Snacks Social” section of Sky News Arabia, a humanoid robot known as “Bu Sunaida” was present during the Eid al-Adha prayer ceremony in the city of Dubai.
The details of the robot’s design reflect an attempt to align modern visual technology with traditional regional attire:
Traditional clothing: “Bu Sunaida” appeared wearing traditional Emirati men’s clothing, including a white dishdasha, ghutra, and agal during the ceremony.
Digital facial design: The robot’s face is designed as a digital screen displaying moving blue light patterns.
Gestural movements: The robot, wearing black protective gloves, is seen in parts of the video placing its hands together in a gesture resembling respect or prayer.
