SAEDNEWS: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, during separate meetings with Iran’s newly appointed ambassador to Kazakhstan and the new consul general in Karbala, Iraq, called for making greater use of existing capacities to strengthen and expand cooperation with the two countries.
According to Saednews, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral relations with Kazakhstan and Iraq during separate meetings with the countries’ newly appointed Iranian diplomats.
In a meeting with Mahmoud Safari Farkhond, Iran’s new ambassador to Kazakhstan, Araghchi highlighted efforts to expand bilateral cooperation, particularly in the economic, trade, transit, and energy sectors.
During his meeting with Mohammad Reza Sokout, the newly appointed consul general of Iran in Karbala, Araghchi stressed the importance of further developing the longstanding and friendly relations between Iran and Iraq. He particularly pointed to cooperation in religious affairs, people-to-people exchanges, facilitating pilgrims’ travel, and improving the organization of pilgrimage trips between the two countries.
The two diplomats also presented their plans for expanding bilateral cooperation ahead of beginning their respective diplomatic assignments.
