SAEDNEWS: Masoud Pezeshkian, President of Iran, held a phone conversation with his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron, to discuss regional developments as well as ongoing negotiations between Iran and the United States.
According to the political desk of Saed News, President Pezeshkian stated that despite the achievement of expert-level understandings between the parties, excessive demands and the lack of political will among senior U.S. officials have prevented the finalization of an agreement.
He added that Iran remains prepared to continue negotiations strictly within the framework of international laws and regulations, with the aim of safeguarding the rights of the Iranian people. He noted that Europe can play a constructive role by encouraging the United States to adhere to these frameworks.
The president emphasized that approaches based on threats, pressure, and military action are not only ineffective but also increase the complexity of the issues and exacerbate problems created by the U.S. itself.
He further stated that Iran considers diplomacy the preferred path for resolving disputes and, while preserving its national dignity and authority, declares its readiness for dialogue within legal frameworks.
The president also underscored that Iran has always sought to ensure sustainable security for maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, warning that any threat to the security of this region would have wide-ranging consequences for global trade.
At the same time, Iran is fully prepared to respond to any scenario in line with its national interests.
