Kharg Island After the U.S. Nighttime Attack: Was the Petrochemical Complex Damaged?

According to the political desk of Saed News, citing Fars News Agency, field sources reported that during the attacks more than fifteen explosions were heard across Khark Island.

The enemy reportedly attempted to damage several locations during the strikes, including the army’s air defense system, the Joushan naval pier, the airport control tower, and the offshore helicopter hangar.

These sources stated that none of the oil infrastructure was damaged in the attacks. Iran had previously warned about the consequences of any strike on the country’s energy infrastructure, emphasizing that such an action could lead to all oil and gas facilities in the region—where the United States and its Western allies have interests—being set ablaze and destroyed.

Field observations also indicate that thick smoke was rising from the island following the explosions.

After the attacks, Donald Trump claimed that all military targets on Khark Island had been successfully struck.

Earlier, hostile sources had reported the complete destruction of the island’s air defense systems. However, the continued operation of air defense units on the island about an hour after the attack contradicted those claims.

Trump has previously claimed on several occasions that Iran’s missile capabilities had been completely destroyed. Nevertheless, the wave of missile and drone attacks has now reportedly reached its forty-eighth round.
