SAEDNEWS: Iran-Iraq Trade Ties Poised for $20 Billion Annual Growth
According to Saednews, Iran and Iraq could achieve the previously projected annual trade target once part of the domestic and external obstacles affecting their commercial relations are addressed, according to Yahya Al-e Es’hagh, Chairman of the Iran-Iraq Joint Chamber of Commerce.
Speaking at a Working Group meeting focused on boosting exports in Kermanshah province, chaired by the provincial governor general, Al-e Es’hagh highlighted the current regional and international circumstances. He stressed the need for practical measures to address the challenges affecting trade between the two neighboring countries.
On Tuesday evening, an Iranian economic delegation arrived in Kermanshah, western Iran, to discuss ways of strengthening trade and economic relations with neighboring Iraq.
The delegation included Hassan Danaeifard, Secretary of the Headquarters for the Development of Economic Relations between Iran and Iraq, and Yahya Al-e Es’hagh, Chairman of the Iran-Iraq Joint Chamber of Commerce. A number of Iranian and Iraqi business representatives and economic figures from the region also accompanied the delegation.
The visit is aimed at exploring opportunities to expand bilateral trade, remove existing commercial barriers, and strengthen economic cooperation between Iran and Iraq.
