Saed News: Emmanuel Macron, during Paris Saint-Germain’s championship celebration at the Élysée Palace, praised Luis Enrique in a special way and delivered a strong response to his critics.
According to SAEDNEWS, three years have passed since Luis Enrique joined Paris Saint-Germain, and the Spanish coach has finally managed to win over all his critics. On Sunday night, during a special ceremony held at the Élysée Palace following PSG’s second consecutive UEFA Champions League title, French President Emmanuel Macron took the opportunity to publicly praise the coach’s performance.
PSG defeated Arsenal in the Budapest final, winning on penalties after a 1–1 draw, to bring the trophy home.
Macron said during the ceremony, referring to Enrique’s early days in Paris:
“I will never forget all those football experts and analysts who said that when Luis Enrique arrives here, things will become disastrous and catastrophic. Yesterday we saw a coach who acted like an extraordinary and unmatched orchestra conductor. Well done, and I take my hat off to you.”
His remarks were met with applause from those present.
When Luis Enrique took charge of Paris Saint-Germain in 2023, the club was in a transitional period, with major stars leaving and a shift in transfer policy. Many analysts expressed concerns about the team’s future. However, Enrique managed to build a dominant, almost unstoppable side through tactical discipline and team unity, leading PSG to dominate European football for two consecutive years.
