SAEDNEWS: Police officer’s kind act assisting a young bride on the highway becomes a media story
According to Saed News, citing the Young Journalists Club, a wedding day is undoubtedly considered one of the most important and happiest days in the lives of young men and women. However, for a young bride from the United Kingdom, this day turned into an unforgettable experience in a different way.
Lydia Fletcher, who had already postponed her wedding twice due to the COVID-19 pandemic, never imagined she would face an unexpected problem on her wedding day. While traveling with her parents in a wedding car to St. Mary’s Church in Eccleston, the vehicle suffered a mechanical failure on the A55 highway.
At that moment, North Wales Police officer Matt Geddes, while on patrol, noticed the bride in her wedding dress standing anxiously by the roadside. After learning about the situation, he decided to transport the bride, along with her parents Yvette and Alan, to the wedding venue using his police car.

The 29-year-old sergeant told Nottinghamshire Live that their vehicle had been working just five kilometers from the church before suddenly breaking down. He added that he was happy he could help the young couple and that the bride and her parents quickly changed from stressed and worried to smiling and relieved.
Fortunately, with the help of the kind officer, the bride arrived at the church on time, and the wedding ceremony proceeded as scheduled.
