SAEDNEWS: A photo of a 22-year-old bride alongside a 92-year-old groom has been published.
According to the Saed News analytical and news website, Mousli Mohammad Al-Majami’i, a 92-year-old Iraqi farmer, married a 22-year-old woman on Thursday night in a grand ceremony. In the same event, the elderly man’s two grandsons, aged 16 and 17, also got married to their fiancées.
The wedding ceremony was attended not only by the villagers and the bride’s and groom’s families, but also by tribal leaders of the region, local elders, and other community notables.
Mousli Mohammad Al-Majami’i said: “I am very happy that my wedding ceremony is taking place at the same time as my two grandsons’. I delayed my grandsons’ marriages several times so that I could also find a wife, and all three of us could get married on the same day.”
Mousli Mohammad Al-Majami’i is from the village of Ghuban, near Samarra. Three years ago, he lost his first wife after 58 years of marriage. He has 12 sons and 4 daughters from his first marriage.
The 22-year-old bride, Mona Mukhlif Al-Jubouri, who is also from the same village of Ghuban, said that she hopes to make her husband happy and that his children—especially his sons—will accept her as their father’s wife.
