This year, the Hezar-Daf festival, also known as “One Thousand Drums,” will benefit from significant upgrades in infrastructure and safety measures, ensuring an enjoyable and secure experience for all attendees.

Kiumars Habibi, the Deputy Governor of Kurdistan Province, shared on Saturday during a planning meeting with local officials and cultural heritage experts that Palangan is well-prepared to host both tourists and participants. "This festival attracts many visitors each year, and we've made considerable improvements to the village's infrastructure and public services," he remarked.

The event, celebrated for its mystical drumming rituals, draws music lovers, spiritual enthusiasts, and travelers from across Iran and beyond.

According to Habibi, preparations have been focused on prioritizing the comfort and safety of attendees. This includes providing wheelchairs for those with disabilities, setting up directional signs throughout the village, and addressing potential hazards on roads leading to Palangan, where traffic restrictions and warning signs are being placed.

To ensure safety and order, law enforcement will be stationed at key spots within the village and along the access routes, while the Red Crescent Society will offer medical support during the festival.

Improvements are also being made to the village’s communication networks and internet services, along with renovations to public facilities such as restrooms and prayer areas. Clear signage will direct visitors from the village’s entrances to the main festival venue.

Environmental sustainability is another key focus, with eco-friendly trash bags being distributed throughout the area to minimize environmental impact. Habibi emphasized the importance of preserving the village’s cultural authenticity and ecological integrity. "This celebration holds immense cultural value, and it also offers a chance for Palangan to gain global recognition as a unique heritage site," he said.

Once again, the Hezar-Daf festival is set to attract large crowds, celebrating the union of Kurdish-Persian music, culture, spirituality, and nature.
