The Jannat Roudbar road is a beautiful, paved secondary road that connects Ramsar to Tonekabon, passing through the scenic, charming Dalkhani forests. The road continues along the roaring Chalehroud River up to the picturesque village of "Namakdareh." This road, with an elevation of about 2000 meters above sea level, offers a spectacular view.
After entering the Jannat Roudbar road, after about 10 kilometers, you'll find a paved road on your right that leads south toward Markouh and connects to Mejran Dam. As you continue, an incredible view of the lake behind the dam will unfold before you. Proceeding along the route, you will reach the village of Tâlesh Sarâ. At the crossroads, one path leads to Mejran Dam. However, public visits to the dam’s crest are not allowed, and you can only enjoy the view of the lake from a distance.
Each season offers its own charm—spring with its greenery and freshness, summer with the cool shade of trees, fall with its dreamy colors, and winter with snowy landscapes. However, the best times to visit Mejran Dam are spring and early autumn. During these periods, the weather is pleasant, and you'll be safe from harsh sunlight and cold winds.
If you take the direct route from Tâlesh Sarâ, you will reach the small village of Kalachkeh. From there, you can begin a forest hike and visit the delightful Nesaroud River, which originates from Azâreh and provides water for the Mejran Dam.
If you look at the Nesaroud River from above, you might mistake it for the rivers of the Amazon Rainforest, winding like a snake through the dense forest. If you wish to visit the indescribably beautiful lake behind the dam, follow the direction of the Nesaroud River to reach the lake.
