According to SaedNews Tourism Service, exploring autumn destinations around Tehran offers a uniquely colorful experience full of beauty and tranquility. As autumn arrives, the nature and trees of the surrounding villages start to change color, turning into a spectrum of yellow, red, and orange leaves. If you enjoy traveling along quiet paths, soaking in the charms of nature with a touch of rain, silence, and the rustle of leaves in the wind, autumn is the perfect season.


Cheshmeh A’la Village, Damavand

Cheshmeh A’la is a village in Damavand known as an attractive autumn destination near Tehran. Its spring water is potable and has numerous medicinal properties, earning it the name “A’la” (excellent). The village is located about 45 kilometers east of Tehran and 4 kilometers from Damavand city. To reach the spring, you must go to Cheshmeh A’la Village, 4 kilometers north of Damavand.


Sangan Village: The Thousand-Colored Autumn

For a colorful autumn view set against a backdrop of rushing waterfalls, head to Sangan Village. Walking through its garden-lined alleys and fruit orchards is truly invigorating. Natural attractions include the famous Sangan Waterfall, Biuk Agha Cave, the millennia-old plane tree, Sangan River, and towering trees. Sangan Village is located northwest of Tehran, slightly above Solqan.

To get there, take Hemmat Highway to Shahre-Do Mahan Square, head toward Kohsar Road, and then enter Imamzadeh Davood Road. After about 10 kilometers, you’ll see the sign for Sangan Village on the left.


Afjeh Village: Autumn Wonders Near Tehran

Afjeh, in the Lavasanat region, is one of Tehran’s most charming autumn routes. With its mountainous climate, stunning landscapes like plains and waterfalls, traditional mud-brick structures, and historic walls, it offers a delightful setting for fall nature trips.

Highlights include Hoveij Plain, the 15-meter Paskouhak Waterfall, Moab Waterfall near Hoveij Plain, the traditional Cheraghan neighborhood with its sacred well, and an old Qajar-era bathhouse. To reach Afjeh, take Shahid Babaei Highway toward Lashgarak, Lavasan, and finally Afjeh Village.


Barg-e Jahan Village in Autumn

Barg-e Jahan is one of the best spots to witness the dance of autumn leaves around Tehran. Beyond its autumn rain and chill, the alleys carpeted with yellow and orange leaves are perfect for a fall stroll and fresh air. This traditional village has partially transformed due to villa construction in some areas.

Situated northeast of Small Lavasan, on the southern slopes of the Alborz Mountains, Barg-e Jahan is full of lush orchards with apples, pears, cherries, and more. A flowing river runs through the village, adding vitality and abundance.

Two routes lead to Barg-e Jahan: one via Shahid Babaei Highway, Lashgarak Road, and Small Lavasan passing through Narvan, Henzak, Afjeh, and Barg-e Jahan; the other from Jajrood via Latian Dam and Niknamdeh Village.


Barghan Village: Autumn in Alborz

Barghan Village in Alborz Province, Savojbolagh County, is another autumn gem near Tehran. Its vibrant fall colors and yellow-orange leaves offer fantastic photography opportunities. Located about 80 kilometers from Tehran, Barghan captivates with dense trees, castle-shaped mountains, and the soothing sound of its river.

Barghan is famous for its green plums, honey, mulberries, and fresh dairy products. The Shahrood and Sanj rivers flow through the village like lifelines, enriching the natural scenery. Access is via Karaj-Qazvin Highway, after Kordan.


Eigl Village in Autumn

Located 25 kilometers northeast of Tehran, Eigl Village is known for waterfalls, mountains, and green plains, with spectacular natural scenery, especially in autumn.

Walking through its mud-brick alleys and admiring its autumn hues makes Eigl a favorite for nature lovers. The Eigl Waterfall, one of the village’s most famous, lies on the northeastern slopes of Tochal Peak at 2,000–2,300 meters, surrounded by orchards. Winters are snowy and icy, while spring brings blooming flowers and lush greenery. Eigl is also a route to Tochal Peak and is 4 kilometers west of Oshan.


Shahrestanak Village: Fall Beauty Near Tehran

Shahrestanak is known for its ancient trees, yellow-orange leaves, and a beautiful river flowing through the village. Apple, cherry, walnut, and apricot branches stretching over alleys create natural shade along the paths.

A 20-minute walk southeast reveals the 2,800-year-old Cypress of Oros. Shahrestanak’s scenic beauty was a favorite of Naser al-Din Shah, who also had his summer palace here. The village is marked on the Chalous Road at kilometer 44, after Asara Village.


Zarrin Dasht Village, Firuzkooh

Zarrin Dasht in Firuzkooh is a colorful autumn destination near Tehran. Listening to the flowing Hablerud River, feeling the cool fall breeze, and admiring the village’s robust trees is invigorating.

The village is 120 kilometers from Tehran via the Tehran–Damavand–Firuzkooh road. After reaching Aminabad Village, turn toward Zarrin Dasht Road to reach this autumnal paradise.
