Cristiano Ronaldo, the Portuguese football superstar, has once again topped the list of the highest-paid athletes in the world.
According to Saadnews’ sports service, citing Khabar Varzesh, Cristiano Ronaldo has once again secured the top position in the list of the highest-paid athletes worldwide.
In the 12 months of 2024, Ronaldo earned $260 million, placing him at the top of the highest-paid athletes list.
This comes despite the fact that no female athlete is among the top 100 athletes in terms of income.
Ronaldo's astronomical contract with Al Nassr ensured that he remains at the top of the chart for the second consecutive year after his move to the Saudi Arabian league.
According to Sportico, the Portuguese forward, who celebrated his 40th birthday last week, earned $215 million in salary through his contract with Al Nassr and an additional $45 million from endorsements.
Ronaldo is so far ahead of other athletes worldwide that Stephen Curry, the Golden State Warriors guard, who is ranked second, trails him by $100 million.
Who are the next athletes on the list?
Stephen Curry is second with $153.8 million, and British boxer Tyson Fury is third with $147 million.
Lionel Messi, the Argentine captain of Inter Miami ($135 million), and LeBron James, the Los Angeles Lakers forward ($133.2 million), are in fourth and fifth positions, respectively.
