The Incredible Creativity of An Iranian Architect in Designing a Space Hotel Inspired By Bones and Snow.

According to the decoration and architecture service of Saednews, many buildings are constructed annually in the city that resemble those previously built, with only minor creative differences such as a curve in a wall. However, these buildings often lack visual appeal and in some cases, they even make the cityscape appear unattractive. In rare instances, there are buildings that, in addition to their functional advantages, feature a bold and beautiful design that makes the area stand out. These buildings often become popular spots for visits and photography, drawing attention to themselves. One such example is the "Goliakh Hotel," built at the Shemshak ski resort.

Goliakh: A Hotel for Every Taste

The Goliakh Hotel is located at the Shemshak ski resort in Tehran Province and is also known as the Barin Ski Resort. The hotel was built on a 5,000 square meter plot with a usable area of 5,700 square meters in the Shemshak area. This complex is designed with 10 floors, including 7 residential floors and 3 parking floors, featuring 66 residential units ranging from 48 to 313 square meters and 65 parking spaces.

Barin Hotel: A Fusion of Nature and Architecture

One aspect that makes the architecture of a building unique is its comprehensive consideration of location and climate, with the overall design based on these factors. The architects of Barin Hotel took advantage of this concept and aimed to create a deep connection between nature and architecture. By the time the architects began working on the project, the main structure had already been completed.

Eskimo or Bone-like House!

The main structure and roof of the hotel were initially designed in the shape of a classic cube, but the architects felt that the rectangular shape did not align with the natural sloping mountainside. The bone-like appearance and curved structure of the hotel were designed to blend harmoniously with the surrounding environment. The interior space of the Barin accommodation is also designed in the style of an Eskimo house, making it an architectural exception among Iran’s mountain hotels.

A Fusion of Imagination, Science, and Reality in Architecture

The Goliakh Hotel building won second place in architecture, construction, and structural design in 2011 in Chicago. The architects of Barin Hotel drew inspiration from Eskimo cabins to design this 10-story hotel, which is also called the Eskimo Hotel of Shemshak. The white, porous exterior of the hotel evokes a bone-like texture, resembling the architecture of buildings seen in science fiction films.

A Half-Hour Drive to Experience the Eskimo of Shemshak

Shemshak is a popular tourist destination, especially for snow enthusiasts and skiers, who visit for the beautiful views and skiing at the Shemshak resort. The Goliakh Hotel is located in Jirud Shemshak, approximately half an hour’s drive from Tehran. This building is privately owned, and to stay there, you either need to purchase a unit or rent it annually.
