In 2017, after Selena’s lupus worsened, Francia donated a kidney to her.

Selena and Francia shared a close friendship for over a decade and often referred to each other as sisters.
However, after Selena mentioned Taylor Swift as her close friend in a Rolling Stone interview, it seemed that her friendship with Francia had ended.
Francia unfollowed Selena on social media and didn’t speak to her for a long time.
