According to Saed News, a photograph from last year’s Fatimiyya commemoration has resurfaced online, showing Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh, head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ Aerospace Division, seated alongside prominent Iranian actor Farhad Qaemian during a mourning ceremony at the Supreme Leader’s residence in Tehran.

The gathering, part of the annual observance of Fatimiyya—mourning the martyrdom of Fatima Zahra, daughter of the Prophet Muhammad—is among the most symbolically charged religious events on Iran’s calendar. Attendance at such ceremonies hosted by Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is typically reserved for high-ranking political, military, and cultural figures, underscoring both personal loyalty and public stature.

The presence of Hajizadeh, a central figure in Iran’s missile program and a vocal critic of Western military policies, alongside Qaemian, known for his roles in religious and historical dramas, highlights the regime’s deliberate cultivation of ideological unity between the military establishment and the nation’s artistic community.

Analysts suggest such imagery serves dual purposes: reinforcing the internal cohesion of Iran’s elite and broadcasting a message of cultural-political solidarity to the public. While the photo itself offers little in terms of news content, its symbolic weight has prompted commentary across Iranian media platforms, especially amid heightened regional tensions and efforts to bolster national unity.
