Saed News: The U.S. President claimed that by attempting to mediate between Moscow and Kyiv, he is seeking to save Ukraine from a complete defeat against Russia's massive war machine.
According to Saed News, citing Fars News Agency, U.S. President Donald Trump issued a sharp warning to Ukraine, urging it to come to the negotiating table with Russia: “I think that country [Ukraine] will soon collapse. This [Russia] is a massive war machine. Let’s be realistic.” He made these remarks in an interview with The Atlantic, published yesterday, claiming: “I think I’m saving that nation and doing Ukraine a great service. I truly believe that.”
Last week, the U.S. President told reporters he believed Russia was ready for a compromise but emphasized that an agreement must be reached with Ukraine. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky recently rejected Trump’s peace framework due to its failure to address the recognition of Crimea as Russian territory. This prompted a warning from U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who stated that if no progress is made, the United States may completely withdraw from efforts to end the war in Ukraine.
Trump’s deputy, J.D. Vance, also issued a fresh warning alongside the former president’s latest remarks, saying that Kyiv will not win the conflict against Moscow. Referring to Ukraine and its European supporters, he added: “Expecting Russia to collapse due to the ongoing conflict is unrealistic.”
