SAEDNEWS: Judiciary Communications Center: “Investigation of the January 2026 riots and terrorist incidents has recently begun, and any claim of a verdict before the completion of these cases is false.
According to the Political Service of SaedNews, citing Asr Iran, the Judiciary has denied reports circulating on social media claiming that “Ali Rahbar” was executed in Mashhad Prison, calling them “fake execution news.”
The Judiciary’s Communications Center (Mizan) stated that the news of the execution of “an individual named Ali Rahbar on February 1” spread by “some anti-revolution accounts” is false, emphasizing that “investigations show that such a person was never detained in the prisons of Khorasan Razavi Province for an execution order to be issued and carried out.”
The official statement from the Judiciary’s media center reads:
“Following the failure of the Zionist-American terrorist project, which caused extensive human and financial losses to the country and resulted in the martyrdom of numerous security personnel and citizens, the dissemination of false and fabricated news has also intensified with the investigation of the cases of terrorists and rioters.
One common form of fake news, which was frequently observed in 2022 (1401), is the spreading of false reports about judicial proceedings of defendants or fabricated execution claims.
Publishing the names of individuals who are claimed to have been executed or sentenced to death has become a widespread tactic of adversaries.
Examples include the absurd false report of execution orders for 800 rioters last week or the fake news about the execution of a young man named Erfan Soltani, which even prompted a reaction from the U.S. State Department.
These reports demonstrate that the enemy resorts to baseless claims, publishing supposed execution verdicts even while cases are still in the prosecutor’s office and awaiting court hearings.
Investigations show that Erfan Soltani was arrested on January 10, 2026 (20th of Dey 1404) during the riots, charged with assembly and collusion against national security and propaganda against the regime, and is currently held at Karaj Central Penitentiary.
In another case, a popular anti-revolutionary Telegram channel falsely claimed that the owner of a Zanjan restaurant was arrested and executed for supporting protests.
Mizan reporters’ investigations indicate that this news was also fabricated. The individual was detained on charges of assembly and collusion to commit crimes against national security, and the case is still under investigation. Even if a verdict is issued, the defendant would face imprisonment, not execution.
Recently, some anti-revolution accounts again falsely claimed that an individual named Ali Rahbar, arrested during the recent Mashhad riots, was executed on February 1. Investigations confirm that no such individual was detained in Khorasan Razavi Province prisons for an execution to be issued and carried out.
It should be noted that the judicial review of the January 2026 riots and terrorist incidents has only recently begun, and any claims of execution prior to the completion of these proceedings are false.”
