SAEDNEWS: The President of the United States wrote: The last thing the world needs is China’s domination of Canada. Trump had previously warned Canada in a post on social media that if it reached a trade agreement with China, he would impose a 100 percent tariff on Ottawa.
According to the political news service of Saed News, Trump wrote in a message on his social media platform, Truth Social: “The last thing the world needs is China’s domination over Canada.”
The U.S. President added: “This will not happen, and it will not even come close to happening.”
Earlier, Trump had threatened Canada on social media that if it reached a trade agreement with China, a 100 percent tariff would be imposed on Ottawa.
The U.S. President also warned Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney that a trade deal with China would put the country (Canada) at risk.
On his social media platform, Truth Social, he claimed: “China will devour Canada alive. The destruction of businesses, the social fabric, and the overall lifestyle of the people of this country will be part of that destruction.”
Trump added: “If Canada reaches a deal with China, it will immediately face 100 percent tariffs on all Canadian goods and products entering the United States.”
During his recent visit to China, Carney described the Asian superpower as “a reliable and predictable partner,” and at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, he encouraged European leaders to attract investment from the world’s second-largest economy.
