SAEDNEWS: The Cultural Commission spokesperson stressed that media and journalists must quickly gain international internet access to report accurately to the world.
According to the Political Service of Saed News Website, Ahmad Rastineh Speaks on Internet Restrictions and Media Access After Recent Unrest, Ahmad Rastineh, in an interview with ISNA regarding internet outages and restrictions following the recent unrest, stated: “The recent sedition and the harm caused to many of our dear citizens were due to destructive media activities, which unfortunately occurred on foreign platforms and created special conditions for domestic media.”
He added: “It is now necessary for the government to quickly provide domestic media and journalists with the means to narrate an accurate, correct, and truthful account of this sedition.”
Ahmad Rastineh, spokesperson for the Cultural Commission of the Iranian Parliament, emphasized the need for accrediting and ranking media outlets and news agencies: “Around the world, media and news agencies have specific rankings and accreditation systems. In fact, a news agency with a defined ranking and accreditation is guaranteed in its media actions.”

He continued: “When a country faces special circumstances, hostile media, foreign media, and foreign platforms amplify any news and present both true and false narratives; usually, by presenting a few correct narratives, they deliver a targeted and directional narrative to the public.”
The representative of Shahr-e Kord in parliament added: “In the recent sedition, traces of numerous network operations conducted by American-Zionist terrorist networks were discovered on foreign media and platforms. These platforms facilitated chaos and the networked design of terrorist flows inside the country.”
He stressed that media and news agencies must quickly gain access to properly convey the correct narrative: “It is essential that media and journalists gain access to international internet as soon as possible so they can accurately report and convey it to the world. The government must provide this infrastructure because it is vital for media and news work.”
Rastineh added: “Today, false narratives about our country are circulating internationally, so it is urgent that news agencies and media have access on the global stage.”
He reiterated: “This issue required the government in previous years to urgently act on accrediting and ranking media outlets and news agencies, which unfortunately did not happen. Therefore, the government must prioritize the growth, promotion, ranking, and accreditation of news agencies and media.”
