SAEDNEWS: The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran held a telephone conversation with the Foreign Minister of Niger to discuss and exchange views on bilateral relations.
According to Saed News, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi held a telephone conversation with Niger’s Foreign Minister, Bakary Yaou Sangaré, to review bilateral relations and exchange perspectives on regional and international issues.
During the call, Araghchi emphasized Iran’s commitment to deepening its partnerships across Africa, highlighting the need to enhance cooperation between Tehran and Niamey both bilaterally and within international organizations. He also extended an official invitation for Sangaré to visit Iran.
Sangaré welcomed the invitation and praised the strong and friendly ties between the two countries, expressing Niger’s readiness to expand cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
In recent years, Iran has broadened its diplomatic outreach to African nations as part of a wider foreign policy strategy aimed at diversifying global partnerships and promoting South–South cooperation. Iran and Niger continue to maintain positive relations, particularly in fields such as energy, education, agriculture, and multilateral coordination. Regular diplomatic contacts, including high-level meetings and phone consultations, remain central to the ongoing development of their partnership.
