SAEDNEWS: Shemkhani, Who Survived an Assassination Attempt During the 12-Day War, Faces a Media Attack This Time
According to Saed News’ political desk, Hamshahri newspaper reported that since Saturday night, a wave of reposted images and videos purportedly showing the “luxury” wedding of Ali Shamkhani’s daughter, former Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, has swept across social media.
This content has gone beyond sharing private family images, sparking speculation online about the ceremony’s location and related expenses. Shamkhani, who survived a failed assassination attempt by the Israeli regime during the 12-day war, is now facing a media attack.
Investigations indicate that the videos and photos are nearly two years old. Their sudden surge and high volume of circulation undermine claims of accidental release, as the material had previously been public and is now systematically spreading.
Reports suggest that some accounts linked to the Israeli regime, verified with a blue checkmark on X (formerly Twitter), were among the first to circulate the video. These channels have previously targeted prominent figures from the Iran-Iraq war era. Recently, accounts affiliated with Israel have intensified efforts to undermine leading military figures in Iran.
Some domestic and foreign actors, who publicly advocate for non-interference in private life, have contradicted themselves by sharing this video, revealing a double standard: privacy is respected only when their interests are at stake, but family matters can become public fodder when convenient. Furthermore, it is reported that Shamkhani’s son-in-law is non-Iranian, meaning wedding costs are traditionally the responsibility of the groom’s family, not the bride’s father.
