SAEDNEWS: U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio met with Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar in Washington to discuss key regional issues, including Iran, the snapback mechanism, Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria. The two officials agreed to continue close cooperation to ensure regional security and stability.

Iran, Gaza, and Global Diplomacy: Key Topics in Rubio-Saar Washington Meeting

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar met in Washington on Wednesday to discuss Iran and the snapback mechanism.

According to SAED NEWS, citing The Times of Israel, during the meeting, Saar thanked Rubio for his long-standing commitment to standing with Israel and for the transparent and exceptional support provided by the Donald Trump administration to Israel.

The office of the Israeli Foreign Minister stated that the two sides discussed various opportunities and challenges in the Middle East. Among the topics reviewed were Iran, through unprecedented cooperation to eliminate Iran’s nuclear threat and the snapback mechanism, the ongoing war with Hamas in Gaza, the upcoming United Nations General Assembly discussions, and joint efforts to counter anti-Israel actions on the international stage.

Meanwhile, the U.S. State Department confirmed that both sides discussed key issues in Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria. Rubio, while reiterating accusations against Iran, claimed: “The two sides agreed to continue close cooperation between the two countries, which is essential for regional security and prosperity.”
