SAEDNEWS: Abbas Araghchi, our country’s Foreign Minister, said: “Currently, the Europeans have until October 20th to implement the snapback, but in our view, due to their positions, they do not have the legitimacy to discuss or apply any part of the JCPOA, including the snapback mechanism.”
According to the political section of Saed News, excerpts from Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi’s appearance on the program “Jaryan” are as follows:
“I have been participating in the Arbaeen ceremonies for several years. Arbaeen has its own characteristics. First, the presence of Iranians, if not stronger than in past years, is certainly not less. Along the route, we see people giving advice and recommendations, including urging us to stand firm and strong. The motivation of the people has also increased.
On the other hand, among the people and officials of Iraq, there is also discussion—with interest—about Iran’s resistance during the twelve-day war. The people of Iraq said that your resistance and your missiles brought joy to our hearts.
The positions taken by the government, the scholars, the religious authorities, and the people of Iraq during the war were unprecedented. All of them were in support of Iran and the Iranian people, condemning the attacks by the Zionist regime and the United States.
The Arbaeen march is a display of Shia power, and even after the twelve-day war, the Shia remain strong in the field. This is the result of the Ashura- and Karbala-oriented perspective.
The possibility of war exists for all countries, with varying probabilities. The people during these two days of Arbaeen did not ask about the likelihood of war, but in Tehran, this question is raised in various circles.
The possibility of war exists for all countries, with varying probabilities, but we must be cautious because our enemies are trying to keep us in a warlike atmosphere. Without any negligence by our armed forces or anyone regarding the possibility of war, we must also be careful about war-promoting atmospheres and not allow them to manipulate our public opinion.
Currently, as an international relations expert, I do not have the impression that war is imminent. Of course, this is an expert opinion, and the armed forces and the government must maintain readiness for all situations. In fact, readiness for war is the most important factor in preventing war.
No One Denies the Snapback Mechanism in the JCPOA
First, no one denies the existence of the snapback mechanism in the JCPOA. The word itself is not disputed, and the mechanism exists. It was because of this mechanism that the Islamic Republic made use of it.
Currently, Europeans have until October 20th to implement the snapback, but in our view, due to their positions—including their insistence on zero enrichment, despite the JCPOA recognizing Iran’s right to enrichment—they do not have the legitimacy to discuss or apply any part of the JCPOA, including the snapback.
In a long and well-reasoned letter to the UN Secretary-General and the Security Council, I argued that for multiple reasons, they are no longer members of the JCPOA. Of course, they can also counter and try other methods.
There is no doubt that we must think carefully and prevent the snapback, and we will not spare any effort until the last moment.
Response to Netanyahu’s False Statements
Resorting to worn-out and repetitive methods by the Prime Minister of the Zionist regime does not work, and our people understand this very well. They thought they could mobilize the people, but they saw that the people firmly stood behind the country and the system.
When they say they purify water and so on… these are the same people who cut off water to Gaza. Secondly, they should lift the sanctions and see how the energy imbalance, caused by sanctions, can be resolved. Of course, our resistance to sanctions has greatly angered them, just as our resistance to war did.”
"The Agency Must Clarify the Protocol for Inspecting Bombed Facilities"
The reality is that after the war, a series of changes occurred in Iran’s relationship with the Agency. After all, our nuclear facilities were attacked, and damage was inflicted.
The Agency must clarify what the protocol for inspecting bombed facilities is. Additionally, the Islamic Consultative Assembly has passed a law and tied our cooperation with the Agency to the approval of the Supreme National Security Council.
Our message to the Agency is that before any permission for re-inspection, a new framework for cooperation with the Agency must be defined.
"Armenia Tells Us It Has Respected All of Iran’s Red Lines"
Naturally, the full dimensions of the Zangezur issue are not yet entirely clear, but what appears on the surface—and what the Armenians tell us, as they insist on explaining to us—is that what has happened differs immensely from what was supposed to happen and from the regional geopolitical changes.
Of course, even what is supposed to happen raises concerns for us, which we are paying attention to.
Initially, the issue of the occupation of Armenia’s Syunik province was raised. We expressed serious concerns, and this project was canceled. Then the discussion of a corridor arose. But all of this has now turned into a road, which an American company, registered in Armenia and under Armenian law, is establishing under Armenian sovereignty.
What Armenia now tells us is that it has respected all of Iran’s red lines.
We must consider our real concerns, but we must also see the matter realistically and understand exactly what is happening.
"Larijani’s Trip to Iraq Was Good and Successful"
Dr. Larijani’s trip to Iraq had been planned for a long time, and in my opinion, it was a very good and successful trip.
His trip to Beirut was also very timely and necessary given Lebanon’s current situation. He had good discussions and clearly conveyed our positions.
"There Has Never Been a Conflict Between Field and Diplomacy During My Tenure"
The Foreign Minister said on the program Jaryan (Flow): “The discussion between field and diplomacy is essentially irrelevant. During my tenure, there has never been a conflict between field and diplomacy.”
"The Criminal Zionist Regime Respects No Red Line"
From the criminal Zionist regime, which has shown that it respects no red line, anything can be expected.
Currently, opposition in the region, the Islamic world, and even some Western countries regarding the occupation of Gaza is high. But both Israel and the U.S. have shown that they do not pay much attention to international consensus.
The face of the Zionist regime has been exposed. Some thought that normalization could bring peace to the region, but everyone saw that the issue is not limited to Gaza. Just two days ago, Netanyahu spoke of a “Greater Israel,” which was met with condemnation from all countries in the region.
