Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says the interests of Iran and Armenia are intertwined amid the ongoing uncertain conditions in the world and developments in the region.
Araghchi made the remark in an article in Armenian Armenpress News Agency as President Masoud Pezeshkian plans to begin a two-day key visit to Armenia and Belarus on Monday.
"The future of relations between Iran and Armenia is very bright, and no one can divert this path,” he said.
He added that Iran-Armenia partnership in the economic sphere expose a mutually beneficial reality.
Referring to shared historical ties between Iran and Armenia in the past and future horizons, he expressed Tehran’s readiness to open a new chapter of ancient friendship which “will undoubtedly bring greater prosperity and security for both nations, the region, and beyond.”
Araghchi pointed out that Iran-Armenia complementary economies provide countless opportunities for growth and development, which can bring prosperity to both nations.
Referring to the strategic importance of Tehran-Yerevan ties given the geopolitical perspective of the region, he said, “As natural allies, our common border is not only a geographical reality, but also a bridge for cooperation in the areas of energy, transportation, human ties, and regional security.
“The fact that Iran, even under unfair unilateral sanctions, has remained one of Armenia’s most important trading partners indicates mutual confidence between the two countries,” Araghchi wrote.
