Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi praised the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Aerospace Force for fighting off the enemy during the recent Israeli war against Iran.
In a meeting with a number of IRGC Aerospace Force servicemen on Monday, Major General Mousavi appreciated them for creating dignity and protecting Iran against aggression.
The top general said the display of power by the IRGC Aerospace Force during 12 days of war imposed by the Zionist regime and the US was much greater than its previous services, even more important than the major military operations carried out during eight years of war in the 1980s.
The Islamic Republic of Iran’s existence and territorial integrity had never been threatened such seriously, the commander said, adding that the “sharp sword of the IRGC Aerospace Force cut off the enemies’ neck and arms by God’s grace.”
Major General Mousavi also warned the enemies that any other mistake will draw Iran’s harsher response, saying the Iranian military forces have their fingers on trigger to counter the enemy’s possible miscalculation or adventurism.
While the Zionist regime waged a war of aggression against Iran on June 13 and struck Iran’s military, nuclear and residential areas for 12 days, the US stepped in and conducted military attacks on three nuclear sites in Iran’s Natanz, Fordow and Isfahan on June 22.
The Iranian military forces conducted powerful counterattacks immediately after the aggression. The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Aerospace Force carried out 22 waves of retaliatory missile strikes against the Zionist regime as part of Operation True Promise III that inflicted heavy losses on cities across the occupied territories.
Also, in response to the US attacks, Iranian armed forces launched a wave of missiles at al-Udeid air base in Qatar, the largest American military base in West Asia.
A ceasefire that came into force on June 24 brought the fighting to a halt.
