SAEDNEWS: An Iranian Foreign Ministry official appreciated the Latin American countries for condemning the Israeli and US act of aggression against Iran.
According to Saednews, Issa Kameli, the assistant foreign minister and director general of the Americas Department at the Foreign Ministry of Iran, appreciated the responsible and principled positions adopted by the majority of the Latin American countries --including Venezuela, Cuba, Nicaragua, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and Mexico-- in unequivocal condemnation of the recent military aggression perpetrated by the Zionist regime and the United States against Iran.
Kameli described their positions as reflective of the serious concern of the Latin American governments regarding the grave violations of the international law and the Charter of the United Nations by the US and Israel.
“There is no doubt that the coordinated assault by the Zionist regime and the United States on Iran’s territorial integrity and national sovereignty constitutes a blatant violation of Article 2(4) of the UN Charter and an unprecedented blow to the non-proliferation regime. The responsibility for the consequences of this unlawful aggression lies entirely with the United States and those who support or justify the lawless conduct of the Zionist regime,” he added, the ministry’s website reported.
Kameli emphasized that the illegality and criminal nature of the acts committed by the Zionist regime and the US in their assault on Iran are beyond dispute.
He strongly criticized the positions taken by Argentina and Paraguay in support of such aggression, described these stances as “shameful” and “reprehensible,” and underscored that, despite the widespread revulsion among the people of Argentina and Paraguay toward the atrocities committed by the Zionist regime, certain officials in those countries have chosen to stand on the wrong side of history by supporting a genocidal regime whose corrupt leaders are the subject of international prosecution for heinous crimes.
Kameli also condemned the offensive and inflammatory rhetoric by certain Argentine officials against Iran and stated, “To lend support to an occupying and racist regime that, in the past two years alone, has massacred nearly 60,000 innocent Palestinians --and which has a long and disgraceful record of egregious violations of legal, ethical, and humanitarian norms-- brings neither honor nor credibility to its backers.”
