SAEDNEWS: Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani declared that the current lull in hostilities should not be mistaken for the end of Iran’s confrontation with Israel, calling the ceasefire a phase of vigilance, not closure.
According to Saed News, Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani, head of Iran’s Expediency Discernment Council, issued a stern warning in a formal statement following the recent 12-day military conflict between Iran and Israel. While commending the Iranian leadership, military, and public for what he described as a “definitive victory,” Larijani asserted that the ceasefire does not mark the end of Iran’s adversarial posture toward the Israeli state.
“The Zionist regime remains fundamentally duplicitous and aggressive,” Larijani said. “Its history is riddled with broken agreements and persistent violations. The United States, under the guise of diplomacy, has operated in tandem with Tel Aviv, jointly orchestrating assaults on Iranian sovereignty.”
His message blended triumphalism with caution. While he praised the “valor of Iran’s armed forces and the unity of its people,” Larijani also emphasized the need for strategic vigilance during peacetime. “This ceasefire is a moment to recalibrate, strengthen our defenses, and seal any vulnerabilities,” he wrote.
The senior cleric expressed gratitude to Iran’s Supreme Leader for his “wise and resolute guidance” and mourned the loss of lives, referring to fallen soldiers as “the brilliant stars in the sky of honor.”
Larijani’s statement reinforces Tehran’s narrative of existential resistance against external foes while also serving as a call for national solidarity and preparedness. He urged all Iranians—officials and civilians alike—to “trust in divine promise” and to march forward with unwavering resolve. “Victory,” he concluded, “comes only from God—the Almighty, the Wise.”
