Iran’s Parliament Speaker: We Will Respond Powerfully to Any Aggression; Nuclear Program to Accelerate

SAEDNEWS – In a strongly worded address to the Iranian Parliament, Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf declared that Iran will deliver “crushing responses” to any form of aggression, warning adversaries that the Islamic Republic is now "more ready than ever, finger on the trigger."

Qalibaf criticized both the United States and Israel for recent escalations, claiming that Iran’s firm and retaliatory strikes forced Washington into seeking a ceasefire. “America, seeing the resilience of the Iranian people, tried to save face with a symbolic attack,” he said, asserting that Iran’s measured response targeted key U.S. military command centers in the region.

He described the recent conflict as a failure for Israel, highlighting the “destruction of its military infrastructure, collapse of the Iron Dome’s credibility, and mass displacement in Israeli cities.” The speech framed Iran’s missile response as a strategic success that rendered the Israeli territory “permanently insecure.”

Turning to the nuclear file, Qalibaf condemned the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) for its perceived silence regarding attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities. In response, he announced a temporary suspension of cooperation with the IAEA and stated that Iran’s peaceful nuclear program would now proceed “at greater speed.”

The Speaker also emphasized Iran’s untapped leverage in global energy markets, hinting that the Islamic Republic has further tools at its disposal should tensions escalate. “We have not yet used our full potential to influence the world energy economy,” he said.

Qalibaf’s address blended military confidence with religious overtones, invoking Qur’anic verses and attributing Iran’s resilience to divine guidance. He praised Iran’s leadership, armed forces, and the Iranian people for their unity, adding, “God granted us a wise leader who has steered the nation through one of the most complex military and psychological wars in history.”

His remarks come amid heightened regional instability following an alleged Israeli attack that killed several Iranian commanders and scientists, prompting Iran’s retaliatory missile strikes that reportedly caused extensive damage across Israeli cities.

The address signals a hardening of Iran’s position in both military and diplomatic arenas, as domestic discourse turns increasingly against Western engagement following recent hostilities.
