SAEDNEWS: The Ambassador and Permanent Representative of France to the United Nations, while claiming Europe’s commitment to the JCPOA despite the US withdrawal from the agreement and repeating allegations about Iran’s nuclear program—and without condemning the aggression by the US and Israel—called for Tehran’s return to the negotiations.

France, Without Condemning the Israeli and American Aggression, Called for Iran’s Return to the Negotiations.

According to Saednews, Jerome Bonnafont, the new French Ambassador to the United Nations, in the latest regular session of the UN Security Council on Resolution 2231 and the JCPOA, claimed: Europe has remained committed to its obligations despite the US withdrawal from the JCPOA and has implemented them.

The statements of the French Ambassador to the UN come while Europe did not fulfill its JCPOA commitments after the US left the agreement, whereas Iran has acted in accordance with the agreement regarding its nuclear program.

He added: We have asked Iran to abide by its commitments and in 2022 made proposals which unfortunately did not yield results.

Referring to the claims of the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) about Iran’s nuclear program, he asserted: There are over 400 kilograms of 60% enriched uranium in Iran, and Iran has a ballistic missile program that could be used for warheads.

The French Ambassador to the UN, without condemning the US and Israeli attacks on Iran, said: We ask Iran to allow inspections by the IAEA to verify that enriched materials have not been moved.

France’s permanent representative to the Security Council stated: We want Iran to return to negotiations. France and three European countries seek to reach an agreement with Iran under Resolution 2231.
